August Sun Sign Profile: Leo (July 23-August 22)

It’s easy to spot a Leo at a party. She’s the one with the flashy outfit, winning smile, and admirers attentively listening to her talk about her latest exploits. The fact is, Leos need fans. And if they aren’t doing something they can be truly proud of in life, they will often create negative drama to fill the void. But it’s not all just bravado and self-aggrandizement. Positive Leos are the REAL DEAL. They are powerful, proud, dynamic individuals who excel in positions of authority and can take on great responsibility handily. Loyal and family oriented, they will go to great lengths to protect their tribe. But don’t expect to be top dog when dealing with a lion. If they want something, they’ll probably get it. Although Leos are great in business and politics, they frequently find fame and fortune in the arts. Dramatic and theatrical, they make excellent entertainers. This can be particularly tricky in love relationships, as they prefer a “starring” role and can make their partners feel like supporting characters rather than co-stars. Femastrology Horoscopes for August

For all the Sun Signs: The beginning of the month will have its titillating moments, with the Sun and Venus in Leo (romance) trine to Uranus in Aries (excitement.)  But there is also trouble in River City this August. Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries remain in a tight square during August, which ain’t too pretty. This combo continues to spawn tension and difficulty in world politics and finances. It can also spawn strange weather, earthquakes, and other destructive forces of nature. Enter Mercury Retrograde! Mercury, the planet of communication, goes retrograde 3 times a year, and tends to wreck havoc with computers, cars, negotiations, appliances, plumbing, and personal relationships. So, hold down the fort, chill out, and choose your battles. Wait to start new projects until mid-September, if possible.

Aries (March 21-April 19) A little romance, a little luck, sound good? This month should be fun and you could use some about now, as Saturn in Libra hasn’t been giving you much of a break this year. So go out, play, flirt, and have a good time. The work will be there when you get back.

Taurus (April 20-May 20) You will have some rewards and some challenges in the home and family department this month. Patience will help you win the day. Jupiter Retrograde in Taurus will bring up a review session about recent achievements. Take care of health issues before they become a problem.

Gemini (May 21-June 20) Important communications are on the way. Don’t let Mercury Retrograde foul up potential deals. Be careful and thorough with all negotiations. This could be a great month to get things done if you can stay focused.

Cancer (June 21-July 21Thoughts about money, home, and security may dominate your thinking. There could be some important decisions to make about both areas. Perhaps you should think about some new business strategies for September that could help you feel more financially productive.

Leo (July 23-August 22) Happy Birthday lions! This will be an exciting month for you, both professionally and in romance. One warning: you may have the tendency to believe in the fantasy and disregard reality in a new romance or project that starts now. What seems amazing could end up just the opposite a little farther down the road. Careful!

Virgo (August 23-September 22) Although Jupiter in Taurus has put some wind in your sails, you are still concerned about your financial and emotional needs. This is a good time to step back a few paces and rest a little. Come September you’ll have more clarity about important issues.

Libra (September 23-October 22) Your social networking might be starting to pay off. Make a point to connect with those who could help you further your career and foster some new friendships. Saturn in Libra hasn’t been easy on you, but your efforts have been noticed and others want to help.

Scorpio (October 23-Novemeber 21) If you haven’t been busy shooting yourself in your own foot, you could get somewhere in the career zone this month. But don’t rest on your laurels, even if you’ve had a few wins recently. Work hard, apply yourself, and control your ego.

Sagittarius (November 22-December 21) Can you say “Vacation?” This would be a great month to take one, even if it ends up being a “Stay-cation.” Planetary forces favor social activity, travel, and recreation this month. Have fun.

Capricorn (December 22-January 19) This will be a month of endings and new beginnings in some important areas. Work hard, be careful with money, and take some long walks in the park when your brain feels like it’s going to explode.

Aquarius (January 20-February 18) Relationship energy is definitely highlighted this month. Just be careful not to assume your mate is looking at things exactly the way you are. A little compromising and generosity could gain you many brownie points about now.

Pisces (February 19-March 20) This month is all about creating harmony with your body, mind, and spirit. You may feel a little spent, as most of the time you give 200 %. Now it’s time to take care of YOU.
